Seth walked across a high bridge when a taxi parked nearby, windows down. He could hear the radio loudly reporting a piece of breaking news. "The daughter of General Eden barely escaped with her life earlier today, as an unknown assailant assaulted her and used an unknown weapon to turn her date into a pile of gray goo. We previously reported the dramatic fallout between the star crossed lovers, and the drama surrounding the Eden family. Th

At the edges of the solar system, the first signs of life emerge within an ark class deep space vessel. A stasis pod bulged slightly, then sighed as the wispy white ice vapor escaped. The man within, wearing his hair short and trimmed, and his face showing early wrinkles unusual for someone his age. As the rest of the ice vapors escaped, a console nearby broke the derelict silence, in an automated female voice which would startle anyone had they been awake. "Vitality check, complete. To build an extended universe, some basic principles should be established:
1. The story usually pits two incompatible sides against one another (such as magic vs. technology). There's the residents, and the visitors. The residents are the inhabitants of the universe where the event takes place. The visitors are the outsiders, usually starting with a small number, recruiting people to their side, or with significant advantage over the residents.
2. Where the two forces clash, it is usually violently. The people caught in the crossfire are exposed to the powers of two universes that never should have natural

Tim looked at the clock and then looked at the setting sun. Carol had already left half an hour before to go to some alleyway or maybe even out of the city, to put as much distance between herself and Nathaniel/Lindsay as possible. She did this every night now, and it was never enough. Once she even drove to another city, but Keyba had just run back in the course of a night and hadn’t seemed to break into a sweat. It was frightening, but more frightening was Gabrielle. No one knew who her human host was during the day, and perhaps that was a blessing… but at t

Andrew was nearly finished getting ready. It was getting close to sundown when he finally finished getting the outside of his house decorated for Halloween. Everything looked perfect for handing out candy for children, but he wasn’t ready yet – he still needed to get in-costume.
It hadn't been easy for him to perfect the potion necessary to create the change, considering that the species didn’t exist in this world, but that was beside the point. With a rough idea of what he needed to do, it wasn’t too difficult to fulfill his goals, but it was still time consuming. Perhaps what was more time consuming than the potion

For Buddy, costume shopping was always a pain. It didn’t matter when or what the occasion was. It was a constant annoyance for him. But, he was going to a costume party tonight, and the only requirement was that the costume had to be something guests wouldn’t have normally chosen. This was why he was in a costume store that he had found, browsing thing

David sighed, rubbing his head. He had been working hard on some homework for a couple of hours and he needed a break. He took off his trilby fedora and placed it next to his computer and stretched, giving a yawn. He brushed his light brown hair out of his eyes and he looked out the window, watching the sun slowly set behind some houses across the street. He sighed.
"I'm bored," he said quietly, standing up and opening the window to let some fresh air in. Traffic on his street was minimal, so it was a quiet night. A soft breeze blew through his window which cooled him down a bit. He smiled. It wasn't so bad now he could concentrate.

"Happy 21, Keegan," My mother said, placing the large chocolate cake in front of me.
"Mom, aren't I a little old to be having surprise birthday cakes?" I asked, my eyebrow raised. I was joking, of course who doesn't love cake?
"No one's too old to have surprise cake," my mom chuckled as my dad lit the twenty-one candles. I looked around at my family as they began to sing "Happy Birthday". I looked to my sister, then to my mom and my dad, and smiled. I stared at the lit candles, pondering. At the back of my mind, the children's story of receiving a wish on one's birthday nagged me. If I blew out all the candles, I would

Today was going to be a bad day for Derek. Derek hated the goths. Nothing ruined his morning more than seeing the crowd of black velvet, white makeup, thick eyeliner, along with the jingle-jangle of a million different chains and spiked accessories. He would always glare at them and shoot out clever insults as they clomped by in their sky high platform boots, laughing and chatting to themselves - no doubt about something like Nightmare Before Christmas, or something equally as dorky and lame. Why hadn’t they grown up yet? They were in college for Christ's sake! Although he hated them all almost equally, there was none more irritating than Danika - or “MANika” as he liked to call her, since she basically did herself up like an obnoxious goth drag queen. Every day she seemed to wear some sort of new impractical dress, made of ruffles and velvet and other stuff that belonged in the Victorian era, not college. Her makeup was always way too thick for his liking, her boots were way too

...hello, Twelve.
Doctor who journal. Kind of in a bunch of emotions after seeing one of my favorite characters leave the show. Sadness, of course... but also some hope. There's a new actor taking the role of the eponymous character of the Doctor and I look forward to seeing something new, while I'll look back on some of the good times I had with the Eleventh Doctor. My Doctor.
merry Christmas.
